Trains passing through Culham

Sometimes we are lucky and are able to record a steam or diesel hauled special passing through the station, or sometimes an unusual stock movement. Not as many as we'd like of course as many railtours stick to the main London to Bristol line, or diverge from Reading. When Chiltern Rail made the connection at Bicester to the line between Banbury and Marylebone it opened up a round trip route from London through Oxford and Oxford Parkway. The Hastings DEMU took advantage of this route for the first time on 27th May 2017, followed by the Flying Scotsman going round twice in the June.
